Participants gain analytical, graphical, and computer-aided techniques to analyse and optimise RF amplifier circuits in practical situations.  The course addresses linear active circuit design, focusing on stability, bandwidth, and noise considerations.

• Layout/ground considerations

• Simultaneous conjugate match; bandwidth considerations

• Transducer-, operating-, and available-gain techniques

• Broad band amplifier design techniques

 

Day two
Active Circuits (Cntd.)
• Circuit optimisation for gain, match and stability

• RF noise sources

• Constant noise circles; available-gain design for minimum noise

• Tradeoffs between gain and noise performance

• Feedback amplifiers combined with impedance matching

• Feedback effects on stability and noise
